![]() Lighting should not be an afterthought in creating a well appointed room. It should have the same importance as the color scheme. Lighting can make rooms look bigger and turn unused areas into useful ones. To get the most out of light, you will use three types of lighting: general, task, and accent. Here you see these beautiful glass spheres by Bocci being used as "accent" lighting. They come in various configurations, so you can customize them to fit your space. Accent light is mostly for striking the mood in the room. Dimmers are ideal for changing the mood of a room from bright to softly relaxing, and designers consider them essential. The aim in any room is to have a layered mix of all three types of lighting. Jean & Tatiana flairinteriordesign.com, Facebook.com/flairinteriordesigntj ![]() Color is essential for your life. If there is nothing in the room already that will give you that "wow" factor, a statement piece in the room such as a fabulous painting, or a sofa in an unusual color, or a fabulous antique piece will give you that focal point. ![]() Isn't this a pretty dining room from one of our projects! We're having almost Spring-like weather here in Annapolis, MD. The daffidills are almost ready to bloom! Here's our first TIP: Dreaming of Spring? The cheapest and best way to refresh and rejuvenate a room is with "color". Walls, accessories, and textiles can add that punch with very little money that will lift your spirits.
