Color does have an important role in decorating the room, each color will show a different atmosphere. I really like to choose a bright color for my living room, to make it look fresher if I'm very tired. Seeing those colors made me comfortable to stay in my room. I also use carpet rugs to make me more comfortable while walking my room, no more cold floor. This is also useful to muffle the sound of our footsteps in the room.
